£50,000 - £55,000 per annum (plus car allowance)

My client is currently recruiting for a Workplace Manager in Reading. The Workplace Manager will lead a team to ensure management of hard and soft services supporting client activities for an assigned property and support the UK and Ireland Regional Manager by being the on-site key point of contact for key stakeholders and/or client. The role will have responsibility for hard and soft service delivery, service quality, project delivery across a portfolio of regional/satellite sites, help desk task resolution, contracted services, safe working practices, and management of site budgets.

– Manage, mentor, motivate and enable training and development of team members
– Develop and sustain a high-quality well motivated team
– Build and maintain an environment that supports teamwork, co-operation and performance excellence within team
Client/Stakeholder Management

– Proactively engage with stakeholders to ensure that on site the customers’ expectations are met
– On-site key point of contact for Facilities within the client’s premises
Project Management

– Identify and generate project opportunities from within a set portfolio of building/facilities & maintenance contracts.
– Become the “go to” person for project services across a range of customers within the client organisation, buildings and sites
– Work with sub-contractors to define and document scope(s) of works.
– Deliver projects within agreed budget requirements and scope and time frames.

Procurement & Vendor Management

– Ensure vendors are well-managed, delivering services on time and within budget
– Ensure contracts are continually assessed to deliver best value to the client
– Ensure that vendor procurement processes comply with agreed client procurement guidelines
Finance Management / Cost Control / Profitability

– Actively work to ensure that the site’s financial operations are in line with budgetary expectation and control requirements
– Ensure financial processes are always followed
Health & Safety Management

– Ensure the provision of a safe working environment
– Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards
Site Operations Management

– Recommend continuous quality improvement practices
– Manage and Implement operational procedures and performance measures and ensure they are maintained at all times
– 24/7 emergency call support and site attendance is required
Technical Management

– Ensure all Critical Environment (CEM) requirements are met
– The development and integration of operational strategies for the delivery of hard services in line with Client objectives
– To provide technical expertise, manage and lead the delivery of hard services across a diverse portfolio of building and locations

Ideal Experience

– 5 Years + Experience of managing both hard and soft services management (may include managing national, multi-site teams and locations).
– Experience in facilities management, building, business or other related field
– Excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client staff within a demanding environment
– Knowledge of Occupational Safety requirements
– Strong PC literacy and proven ability to manage daily activities using various systems
– Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives
– Experience of project management and operational project delivery
– An understanding of basic technical aspects of property
– Budget management
